OUR REVOLUTION MASSACHUSETTS ENDORSES BOB MASSIE

“As someone who has fought for economic, racial, and gender justice for my entire life, I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of Our Revolution Massachusetts,” -Bob Massie

Somerville, MA— At a critical moment in Massachusetts’ Democratic primary for governor, Our Revolution-Massachusetts (ORMA), an affiliate of Senator Bernie Sanders’ progressive political organization, has announced their endorsement of Bob Massie.

Bob will give Democrats the best chance to beat Baker in November. He can build a broad-based progressive coalition and implement real change for the future we deserve!” the group said in a press release.

The endorsement is expected to bring increased visibility, volunteers, and organizing capabilities, especially amongst progressive voters, a group both Massie and his opponent Jay Gonzalez have been vying for.

“As someone who has fought for economic, racial, and gender justice for my entire life, I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of Our Revolution Massachusetts,”

“With every passing month we see the consequences of Governor Baker’s failure to move forward on renewable energy, single-payer health care, affordable housing, and the opioid crisis, among many other systemic problems,” Massie continued. “The time for our movement is now. Senator Sanders ignited a fire within the people of Massachusetts and across the country, and I’m honored that they find me to be the best choice in this race to execute our bold, progressive mission in office.”

Massie went on to say:

“We have seen over the past few years that virtually all of the proposals first advanced by Senator Sanders and Our Revolution have now been accepted by the wider Democratic Party. Indeed, almost every establishment candidate now feels it necessary to identify as a progressive.  We should be proud of that, but we should not forget the many candidates who held these views for their entire careers.”

“Bernie taught us that the people don’t come second to the political establishment and that when we all come together and head to the polls, real change is possible,” Massie said. “This endorsement really shows who the true progressive in the race is.”

With polling data showing Massie and Gonzalez neck and neck with each other, this endorsement represents a huge boost that may prove decisive to the election. The Democratic primary will be held on September 4th, 2018.
